    • Session 2 (August - October), Roots athletes Only

Benefits

Beach volleyball is one of the most effective ways for indoor players to cross-train. With only two players on the court instead of six, every athlete is involved in every part of the game. Each rally requires players to pass, set, attack, block, and defend, which dramatically increases meaningful ball contacts.

The high volume of repetitions combined with the conditioning benefits of training in the sand, low impact but high resistance, creates an ideal setting for developing stronger, more complete volleyball players.

HS Beach Session Tryout:

  • When: Saturday May 9th

  • Timeslot: 9:30am to 11am

What to Expect?

Roots Beach Training Sessions are built for athletes who want to take their game to the next level. Whether the goal is to sharpen skills for the indoor season or to compete in the growing number of beach volleyball events, beach training provides a unique and impactful development environment.

Through beach volleyball, athletes will:

  • Build well-rounded, all-around skills by being required to pass, set, attack, and defend throughout every rally

  • Gain confidence and court awareness as players learn to take responsibility for their space and decision-making

  • Improve explosiveness, vertical jump, and overall conditioning while training in sand, which offers high resistance with reduced joint impact

  • Compete weekly against athletes of similar age and skill level to encourage growth and consistency

  • Participate in end-of-month King of the Beach–style tournaments that emphasize competition, adaptability, and fun
